I hope you were there after bar close so at least you had some fun leading up to this customer service nightmare. I can't remember the last time I was at a Denny's. I'll just keep on staying away.

Everything you just wrote about Denny's is so true. Amazing how our lives parallel. Just two weeks ago, we were at Denny's and had the very same experience. We got our order taken, but watching people around us being served who came in long after we did, I caught the eye of our waiter from across the room, and I immediately read in his eyes and the shocked look on his face, that he had totally forgotten us, and forgotten to put our order in. When he came over to give us some bullshit excuse of why our order was taking so long, we told him exactly where he could put our food. We had been served our drinks, though, and they had the nerve....as I bitched loudly the entire time (you know me)....to charge us for our two drinks. We love to go have breakfast for dinner sometimes, but it will never be at a Denny's again, that's for sure.

Sounds about right. I really hate Denny's. I subjected myself to employment at Denny's last year. I had never served food before, officially. The first day, I was told there were videos I had to watch before I got out on the floor. Then I was told we were too busy and I had to go help out on the floor. I never got to go watch my training videos. In most places, it probably wouldn't matter, but the entire menu is so complicated and confusing, I never caught onto what was what. A co-worker who had only been there a few weeks longer than me told me that the menu was very confusing to everybody and that she never actually got to watch her videos either. I spent the next three weeks waiting on customers so poorly that I couldn't even justify working there anymore, so I quit. Also, cool blog.
